He found that when you mix heme with certain nutrients the mixture has the smell and taste of real meat, the result is all of the products that Impossible Foods’ makes. By processing the root nodules of soybeans Impossible Foods can take the heme from the leghemoglobin found there. Heme was approved by the FDA.
